Kalebs Last Ride Was Made Possible
By Charlie Tapp Owner Of C & C
Trucking. Thanks Charlie For Making
The Wish Of Kalebs Grandparents
Come True.
Since this journey began we have had so many dedicated,
compassionate, concerned medical Professionals involved with Kalebs
care.
These individuals have stood with us thru some dark hours. We have all
cried, laughed and rejoiced at times over Kalebs hospital bed. Sometimes
we disagreed about certain decisions that we faced with our Kaleb, but
always with love!
When Kaleb was only two days old a man entered our lives late that night.
He came to give us the news that no family should ever have to hear! I
was so scared and full of fear. This man came in and asked first if he
could pray. By the time his prayer was through I trusted this man. Yes, he
was the bearer of the news... our little Kaleb only had half a heart (HLHS)
and would need not one but three corrective procedures if he were to
live. I have loved, respected and admired the Doctor over the years. And
when our Kaleb went to Heaven once again Dr. Ben Horne once again
came to us, with love and concern. Thank you Dr. Horne for being the
man of God that you are.

Many Thanks to MUSC in Charleston and to Dr. Scott Bradley.
Thanks to the entire staff at the GHS Childrens Hospital.
\Kalebs many "special" Friends... Dr. Darrel Gwn, PICU. I have to say...I
won that one Dr. Kaleb lived 5 1/2 years longer than you said! We will
always love ya!

Our precious Lisa Dubose, you will always have a special place in our
hearts. You treated Kaleb with such respect and love! Continue your
work with the Children, God uses you in all their lives! Also Thanks to
Beth Slyder.
To all the special Nurses in the Childrens PICU and ER. Thank each of
you for everything you do daily. Vivian Lyons you have been and will
always be our Angel over the PICU God Bless you and the work you do!
Ann, Kim, Pat, Caroline, Sharon, Kelly, Kay, and all the others that I see
your faces but can not remember your names. We offer our heartfelt
Thanks for the care given to Kaleb and his Papa and Nena.
A special Thank you to the respiratory crew.... John, Alicia, Ann, "Tigger"
and Laura.

Thank you to a very special secretary on the PICU wing Pat Jacobs for all
the times she made our many stays more bearable.
For our home caregiving team. Each of you came into our homes to work
with Kaleb and in the process Keith and I made lifelong friends.
Our Blessing from God that I prayed so long for God to send Natalya
Mishin. She has cared for Kaleb with such Love, Respect, and
Compassion that she will forever be a part of our family! She not only fell
in love with Kaleb, but earned our trust in the process. Because of her the
last year of life was so much more pleasurable for us his family since the
time of his stroke. We were able to leave our home and know in our
hearts that Kaleb was being rendered the best of care! On the morning of
Kaleb going to Heaven, I saw such concern and love in her eyes. Natalya,
I saw how Kaleb responded to you and I know he loved you just as we
do. May God Bless you abundantly for all the hard work you do!

Kaleb was also Blessed with a Physical Therapist named Barbara Roehl.
You were with us longer than anyone else. You always knew you were
Kaleb's favorite. On days when he was even being "ugly" to me you could
come in and just say his name and he would smile! You came in and
brought your own style of treatment for Kaleb, always with love. You and
I have seen Kaleb come so very far in your care. The first time he sat
straight up in that little red chair and used his arms to push himself up, I
was in tears and looked at you and you also was crying! We saw Miracles
in Kaleb that without your love and dedication I know would have never
been! By the time that Kaleb decided to go to Heaven he could sit up and
hold his own head up, he could roll with assistance, he could turn his
head to "find" us and you also taught him to stick out his tongue. With
your loving guidance you helped him to color again, something he loved! I
have so many "Big Trucks" that he and you made together. You and I
have cried so many times with the joy at seeing Kaleb achieve a goal. We
were able to witness a little boy work so very hard and use all his
strength to do the things each of us take for granted everyday! We will
always love you as Kaleb loved you! Thank you from the bottom of our
hearts for everything you did for Kaleb and all the children you help
everyday!

And our Beloved Linda Remnik, you have only been with us also a little
over a year. You also worked so very hard with Kaleb. Your compassion
and love shined through in everything you did for him. Thanks also to you
and your husband for making Kaleb a hand device to help him to color,
the thing he loved most!
